Risks are everywhere

And while investors are preparing for new bad data on inflation growth in the United States, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg continues to urge alliance members to step up the supply of air defense systems to Ukraine, ostensibly so that it can continue to defend itself from the special military operation conducted by Russia on its territory. This, together with the news that schools and many other public places are gradually closing in Shanghai as officials try to curb the next coronavirus outbreak, puts serious pressure on investors. Everything is reflected in the indices at annual lows and the growth of treasury bond yields, especially in the UK. The threat of a sharper increase in interest rates has not been canceled, especially in the UK, where the Bank of England cannot understand what it should do next.

A blow to investors was yesterday's speech by Governor Andrew Bailey, who threatened the credibility of the Bank of England by promising to stop emergency bond purchases as planned this Friday – and all this in the face of growing pressure to extend the program.

Premarket

PepsiCo, the snack and beverage maker, reported adjusted quarterly earnings of $1.97 per share, 13 cents higher than estimates, while revenue also exceeded forecasts. PepsiCo successfully raised its products' prices, increasing its forecast for the year ahead. The shares rose 2.4% in premarket trading.

Intel shares gained 1% in the premarket after reports that the chip maker plans to cut thousands of jobs. In their opinion, this will compensate for losses due to falling demand for personal computers. As of July, Intel had 113,700 employees.

Philips shares fell 8.1% in premarket trading after the Dutch company said its core third-quarter profit would decline by about 60% compared to last year. The company also said it would need nearly $1.3 billion to cover the cost of its troubled respiratory drugs business.

El Pollo Loco securities rose sharply by 15.2% in the premarket after the restaurant operator announced a special dividend of $ 1.50 per share and a share buyback program worth up to $ 20 million.

CME Group shares were revised to "buy" at Deutsche Bank, citing an attractive valuation after the stock fell 33% from a 52-week high in March this year. CME gained 1.2% in the premarket.

As for the technical picture of the S&P500, yesterday, there was another decline in the trading instrument. Now trading is below $3,608, which makes it difficult for the index to recover even in the short term. The bulls will expect a dash to $3,608 at the beginning of the regular session. But only a breakdown of this level will return the trend to an upward correction. The breakdown of $ 3,608 will support a new upward momentum, already aimed at the resistance of $3,645 and $3,677. The furthest target will be the area of $3,706. In case of further downward movement, the bulls will declare themselves in the area of $3,579, as it was already today. However, a breakdown of this range will quickly push the trading instrument to $3,544 and open up the possibility of updating support and $3,507 – a new annual minimum for the index.
